Who We Are

We met as Special Forces medic students in one of the military’s toughest schools, learning how to save lives in the most extreme environments on earth. Years later, after multiple deployments, blast exposures, and traumatic brain injuries, we realized something scary: the body often heals, but the brain is harder to fix.

We spent our careers patching up bodies after trauma, but few were talking about the insidious damage caused by repetitive non-concussive impacts. We felt it ourselves and we saw it in the people we served with.

ROE Labs was born from that shared experience.

We are building science-backed supplements to protect the brain before it breaks, starting with B2 Protocol, a daily dose designed to support cognitive resilience, physical readiness, and long-term performance.

While our roots are in Special Operations, our mission is broader: to serve those pushing their limits on the field, in the gym, or anyone who wants to protect their most important asset: their brain.

We did not start this company because it was trendy. We started it because we needed it.

Co-Founders, ROE Labs

Corey Russell

Founder | CEO

Corey is a former Green Beret who served in 5th and 19th Special Forces Groups. He holds a BA in Chemistry from St. Olaf College and is currently pursuing his MBA at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. Before enlisting in the Army, he coached and managed a strength and conditioning gym in Dallas, where his passion for performance and recovery first took root.

Corey is driven by a mission to build science-backed tools that protect long-term brain health, starting with the supplement he wishes he had during his time in uniform. When he’s not building ROE Labs, he spends time fighting his son for the last snack, teaching his daughter the art of sleeping through the night, and keeping up with his badass wife.

Peyton Smith

Founder | CSO

Peyton is a former Green Beret who served in 10th Special Forces Group. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Computational Biology at Weill Cornell. He has a deep passion for science, technology, and understanding the biological systems that keep us performing at our best.

Peyton co-founded ROE Labs to turn that curiosity into action, building science-driven tools to protect the brain over the long haul. Outside of ROE labs, Peyton enjoys his daily workouts, jiu-jitsu, and reading anything he can get his hands on.
